Why we exist

Restaurants don’t lose to the food next door. They lose to being hard to find — and easy to forget.

An independent restaurant, café or bar lives and dies on two things: whether a hungry local can find you in the moment they’re deciding, and whether the guests who came will come back. Almost everything else is downstream of those two. GotRegulars exists to win them both — done for you, live in five business days.

The two forces

Two numbers quietly decide whether a good restaurant makes it.

Force one

Can they find you?

When someone nearby is hungry, they search — “restaurants near me”, a cuisine and a postcode, or they simply ask an AI assistant where to eat. If you don’t surface, you were never in the running. The best plate of food in town loses to the one that shows up first. Discoverability is the top of the funnel, and most independents leak it.

Force two

Will they come back?

A first visit is an introduction. The margin is in the second, the fifth, the regular who brings four friends. But most venues serve a guest once and never capture them — no way to reach them again except by renting an audience back from a platform. Repeat custom is the profit, and most independents give it away.

We didn’t invent these two forces — every good operator already feels them. What was missing was one system that works on both at once, built for a venue that doesn’t have a marketing team.

The belief

We built GotRegulars because an independent restaurant should be able to be the busy one on its street — without hiring an agency, learning SEO, or paying a platform for its own customers.

So we made both jobs one thing: the getting-found half and the keeping-them half, built together, run for you, and yours to keep. The rest of this page is exactly how each half works.

1
Getting found · local search

When someone nearby is deciding where to eat, you should be the answer.

Local search is everything that decides whether you appear at the moment of hunger — on Google, in Maps, and increasingly inside the AI assistants people now ask for a recommendation. We build the whole of it, from the web address you already have.

  • A bespoke website, built to rank and convert. Fast, structured and written for the searches your locals actually type — not a template, and not a page that looks nice but never surfaces.
  • Local SEO & AEO baked in. Local and menu schema so Google — and the answer engines like ChatGPT and Google’s AI overviews — can read, trust and quote you when someone asks “where should I eat in [your town]?”.
  • Your Google Business Profile, kept current. Hours, photos, posts and replies handled — the single biggest lever on whether you show in the Maps pack, without you ever opening it.
  • One consistent identity across the web. The same name, address and phone everywhere, so nothing contradicts and nothing holds your ranking back.
2
Keeping them · repeat business

A first visit is an introduction. The money is in the second, and the tenth.

Being found fills the room once. Turning those guests into regulars is what pays the rent — so we capture the people you already serve and give you a channel you own to bring them back.

  • An interactive menu that captures the walk-in. A QR on the table opens a menu guests can almost taste — photos, reels, one-tap order — and quietly turns an anonymous walk-in into a guest you can reach again.
  • Loyalty in their Apple Wallet — a channel you own. Their card sits on the phone they already carry, so a quiet Tuesday becomes a message you send, not an ad you rent.
  • Reviews asked for, and replied to. Every guest invited to leave one — not just the unhappy ones — with a reply drafted in your voice. Reviews feed repeat custom and local search at once.
  • One guest list that’s yours to keep. Win-back and quiet-night nudges run off a single guest CRM you own and can export — never locked inside someone else’s platform.
Why they belong together

Getting found fills the room. Being remembered fills it again next week — and that’s a business.

Most tools do one half. A website agency gets you found and walks away; a loyalty app assumes you’re already full. We built both halves as one system so the guest a search brought you doesn’t vanish after pudding — they become a regular, and regulars are the only marketing that compounds.

The questions underneath it

Local search & regulars, answered

Why do independent restaurants live or die on local search?
Most restaurant decisions are made in the moment by someone nearby — searching “restaurants near me”, a cuisine and a place name, or asking an AI assistant where to eat. If your website, Google Business Profile and menu aren’t built to be found and quoted, that hungry local never sees you and picks whoever shows up first. Local search is the top of the funnel for every independent venue.
How do restaurants get more repeat customers?
You capture the guests you already serve and give them a reason and a channel to return — capturing walk-ins through the menu they scan at the table, putting a loyalty card in their Apple Wallet you can message, asking every guest for a review, and running win-back and quiet-night offers to a guest list you own, instead of renting your own customers back from a platform.
What is local SEO for a restaurant, in plain terms?
It’s everything that decides whether you appear when someone nearby searches for somewhere to eat: a fast, structured website, a complete and current Google Business Profile, local and menu schema so search engines and AI assistants can understand and quote you, and consistent name, address and phone details across the web.
Do I still need a website if I have Instagram and a Google listing?
Yes. Instagram and a Google listing are rented ground you don’t control, and neither ranks a full menu, takes an order or owns your guest list. A bespoke website built to rank and convert is the one property you own — and the thing local search, AI assistants and your own campaigns all point back to.
Do I have to replace my till or booking system to use GotRegulars?
No. GotRegulars sits beside the tools you already run — Square, SumUp, OpenTable, ResDiary — rather than replacing them. You keep your till and your diary; we add the front-of-house that gets you found and brings guests back.
