The candlelit dining room of Maison Lumière at night, marble tables each lit by a single flame

Paris 9e · Bistro · after dark

One warm room. Lit against the dark.

A single pool of candlelight and bordeaux, held against the blue-black Parisian night. Dinner measured in wax burning down.

Against the dark

Outside, the 9e goes blue. In here, everything is candle and wine.

We keep one room warm after nightfall. The candle is lit for you; the bottle is opened for you; the cold street stops at the door. That is the whole of it — and the whole of the evening.

The dark is the city. The light is the table we keep for you.

Love the space

Two views of the same warm room.

Bentwood chairs, veined marble, brass worn soft by hands. Nothing here is bright — it is all warm. The light pools where you sit and lets the rest of the city fall away.

A bar for the solo pour

Veined marble, brass, and a single flame — the seat for the early glass and the long wait for two.

  • Each table lit by its own flame — never a downlight.
  • A marble bar for the solo pour and the long wait for two.

A corner for the long dinner

Deep bordeaux banquettes, a carafe already breathing. The glow does the decorating; you do the rest.

  • Service that runs as late as the last table wants it.

A short, changing carte

Cooked for the night, not the noticeboard.

A handful of plates that change with the market and the season, poured against a list built for drinking by the glass. No accolades to recite — only what is good tonight, and the bottle to have with it. Bistro classics, done quietly and properly; a living wine list — ask what just came in.
